Why Chappaqua Rocks?
Chappaqua Rocks provides every student with a unique, multi-faceted experience. Our students not only gain a strong music education but also learn valuable life skills in the process. Confidence, teamwork, and the concept of hard work to achieve goals are all qualities gained by the Chappaqua Rocks student. In addition, Chappaqua Rocks has an exciting social atmosphere that supports its students. Band mates become friends and students form trusting relationships with their instructors.
Who We Are
Chappaqua Rocks consists of a tightly knit staff of well educated professional musicians, instructors, and administrators who share a common goal: the success of our students. In order to provide the best experience, the faculty carefully creates each student schedule, ensuring that the student is matched with the proper instructor and other students. No student is "thrown" into a class. Our instructors are patient and have many years of experience. They know how to maintain a healthy balance between teaching what the student wants to learn and what is best for his or her development. The staff is always available to listen and address the needs of our students.
How We Operate
We believe that attention to detail and hands on experience are key to success. Class sizes are small and instructors cover the material that is appropriate for each class. Ensembles are modeled after real bands, with each student playing an important role. Bands do not consist of 5 guitars, 3 drummers, 2 bass players and a singer that can't be heard. That's not a band...that's noise! In order for students to see their progress they participate in a live performance for family and friends to enjoy.
No Experience? No Problem!

Here at Chappaqua Rocks beginning students are nurtured in an environment that caters to their inexperience and taught to be functional musicians in a social atmosphere that they will enjoy. They will learn introductory techniques to the instrument of their choice and be taught valuable musicianship concepts. They will also gain their first experience playing in an ensemble with other students of similar ability levels. Each ensemble is directed by a qualified faculty member to ensure that the band runs smoothly and that all students have a chance to shine. Parents will be absolutely amazed at what their children have accomplished in one five day session.
